Cody Maulsby finished with one point to lead the Southern Tier Xpress to a 2-1 victory over the Cincinnati Swords.

Southern Tier kept Cincinnati's goalie busy throughout the game, and James Schroeder made 37 saves on 39 shots.

Southern Tier also got a goal from Aleksandr Koshelev as well. More assists for Southern Tier came via Tyler Berry, Brandon Desrosiers, Luke Sunde, and Victor Mccutcheon, who contributed one each.

The Swords' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Southern Tier power plays. Cincinnati did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 14 shots on net to force 13 saves.

The Swords were led by Blake Hinds, who scored the team's only goal. Hinds scored 1:19 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Andrew Bond picked up the assist.

Cody Gibson rejected 13 shots on goal for the Xpress. Southern Tier incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Cincinnati incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
