Alexandria blows out Minnesota, 3-0

The Minnesota Flying Aces had trouble finding ways to stop the Alexandria Blizzard, which beat Flying Aces, 3-0.

Jody Randall had a great game for Alexandria, netting two goals. Randall found the back of the net on the power play 19:52 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Alexandria and again while 19:22 into the third to make the score 3-0 Alexandria.

The Blizzard put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Minnesota to score on any of its five power plays. Alexandria featured an improved defense during the game. The Blizzard average 3.0 goals allowed per game. The Flying Aces were unable to stop Alexandria from sending pucks towards the net, and the Blizzard eventually piled up 46 shots on goal. Alexandria could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

Alexandria also got a goal from Tyler Sworsky as well. Other players who recorded assists for Alexandria were Tom Schmidt and Luke Pavelich, who each chipped in one and Trent Olson and Gavin Mindt, who contributed two each.

Tanner Elmore made 19 saves for the Blizzard on 19 shots. Alexandria registered one goal on eight power play opportunities. Minnesota's Kevin OShea stopped 43 shots out of the 45 that he faced. The Flying Aces incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
