Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Point Mallard Ducks defeated the Nashville Jr. Predators in a shootout 5-4 (2-0 SO).

The shootout lasted for eight attempts between the teams. Point Mallard's other shootout goal was scored by Grant Dukus.

Dukus had a great game for the Ducks, netting two goals. Dukus' tallies came at 19 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Point Mallard and on the power play 15:05 into the second to make the score 2-2.

Point Mallard's penalty kill excelled, as the Ducks gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.

Point Mallard's offense rang up 33 shots on Nashville's net. The Ducks' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Point Mallard finished with 29 penalty minutes.

Others who scored for Point Mallard included Noah Gilreath and Chris Corgan, who each put in one. More assists for Point Mallard came via Stephen Coulter, who had three and Jakob Hornsby, Jake Champaign, Jake Cox, Brad Reitter, and Justin Clark, who each chipped in one.

The Jr. Predators kept the Ducks' goalie busy throughout the game, and Cooper Seedott made 44 saves on 48 shots. Nashville gave up more goals than its normal season average. The Jr. Predators give up 2.5 goals per game. Nashville got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

The Jr. Predators were led by Nicholas Redmon, who had one goal and one assist. Redmon scored 18:16 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Colton Anderson picked up the assist. Nashville also had goals scored by Rudolfs Kalvitis, Ben Falk, and Jacob Lainesse, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Nashville were Trent Kulczyk and Cole Helgemo, who contributed one each.

Point Mallard registered one goal on seven power play opportunities. For the Ducks, Jaleel Rosemond was ejected from the game. Justin Ball rejected 28 shots on goal for Nashville. The Jr. Predators incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
