The West Michigan Wolves used a sparkling performance by Hunter Vorva to take down the Wisconsin Whalers, as the netminder did not allow a goal in West Michigan's 4-0 shutout victory. Brandon Benaglio had two goals to lead the Wolves to victory. Benaglio scored at 4:31 into the second period to make the score 1-0 West Michigan and again while 39 seconds into the third to make the score 3-0 West Michigan. West Michigan excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Wolves' offense rang up 45 shots on Wisconsin's net. West Michigan additionally got points from Josh Somers, who also had one goal and one assist and Dakota Ulmer, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for West Michigan came via Michael Tratar, who had two and Matt Shultz and Austin Buchholz, who each chipped in one.
