Havre Ice Dome    Sat, Oct 04, 2014

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Glacier defeated the Yellowstone Quake in a shootout 2-1 (3-1 SO).

The shootout lasted for eight attempts between the teams. Yellowstone got a shootout goal from Mike McCullen. In addition to the clincher, Glacier got shootout goals from Sam Shaheen and Brendan Jester.

Glacier overcame a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. Glacier trailed 1-0 after a power play goal by the Quake's McCullen at 5:15 in the first period. Glacier tied things up at 1-1 on a goal by Karson Frisk at 15:31 in the third period.

Glacier was led by goalie Nolan Slager, who finished with 38 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Slager will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 4.68.
