The West Michigan Wolves climbed out of a two-goal hole to beat the Toledo Cherokee, 4-3.

West Michigan never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Wolves trailed 2-0 after a power play goal by Toledo's David Bogart at 3:26 in the first period. West Michigan knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Michael Tratar at 18:27 in the second period. The Wolves scored the game winner at 9:35 in the third period on a goal by Tratar.

West Michigan got the win with help from a great game by Tratar, who had two goals and two assists. Tratar scored the first of his two goals at 4:29 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Toledo. Dakota Ulmer picked up the assist. Tratar's next tally made the score 3-3 with 1:33 left in the second period. Josh Somers assisted on the tally.

West Michigan additionally got points from Somers, who also finished with two goals and one assist. More assists for West Michigan came via Zack Lloyd, Tim Foley, and Kyle Keeder, who contributed one each.

The Cherokee kept the Wolves' goalie busy throughout the game, and Hunter Vorva made 31 saves on 34 shots.

Toledo was helped by Austin Turner, who registered one goal. Turner scored on the power play 16:26 into the first period to make the score 3-2 Toledo. The Cherokee had gotten the advantage when West Michigan's Shawn Adam was sent off for slashing. Dominic Pisanti picked up the assist. Tyler Zalecki also scored for Toledo. Other players who recorded assists for Toledo were Cody Estrel, who had two and Zach Swanson, Aaron Roschinsky, and Jimmy Howell, who each chipped in one.

The Wolves totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Aaron Callan rejected 22 shots on goal for Toledo. The Cherokee totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 2-for-4 on the power play. Toledo ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Brody Duncan was ejected from the game.
