Billings uses big second period to beat Bozeman, 6-1Centennial Ice Arena Fri, Oct 03, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Bozeman Icedogs allowed the Billings Bulls to net three goals during the second period and fell, 6-1. Billings was paced by Josh Pena, who grabbed one goal. Pena scored 19:59 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Billings. Wolfgang Davis provided the assist. The Bulls forced Icedogs' netminders to work all game long, firing 43 shots and forcing 37 saves. Joey Bergquist made 25 stops and Cody Smargiassi made 12. Billings excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. Billings also got points from Ralfs Karelis, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Bozeman was led by Coleton Anderson, who scored the team's only goal. Anderson scored 1:24 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Bozeman. Thomas Benedict picked up the assist. Ray Smith rejected 19 shots on goal for the Bulls. Billings incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Icedogs incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
