Great Falls blows out Bozeman, 7-0

The Great Falls Americans were firing on all cylinders against the Bozeman Icedogs, and when the final buzzer sounded Americans emerged with a 7-0 win.

Great Falls' penalty kill excelled, as the Americans gave up zero goals despite allowing 10 power plays.

Great Falls was sparked by Miles Giorgione, who tallied one goal and one assist. Giorgione scored 2:08 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Great Falls. Robert Kalata picked up the assist.

The Americans forced Bozeman's goaltenders to work without much rest, firing 46 shots and forcing 39 saves. Jake Murphy made five stops and Cody Smargiassi made 34. Great Falls stifled the Icedogs' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Americans got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. Great Falls' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Americans finished with 42 penalty minutes.

Great Falls additionally got points from Lucas Lomax, who also had one goal and one assist, Devin Panzeca, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Wade Wylie, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Great Falls included Dylan Garton, Hunter Garris, and Zack Mese, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Great Falls were Marvin Simmons, Lucas Stover, Connor Barta, and Adam Apangalook, who contributed one each.

Bozeman's penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled nine minors and two majors for 48 minutes in penalty time. The Icedogs surpassed its season average of 33.0 penalty minutes per game. Bozeman's offense operated below its season average. The Icedogs put an average of 2.5 pucks into the net per game.

Evan Hauser made 21 saves for Great Falls on 21 shots. The Americans registered one goal on eight power play opportunities. For Bozeman, Dalton Rickard and Brock Loser were ejected from the contest.
