Wagner's goals lift Twin City to 5-2 victory over Breezy Point

Kyle Wagner had two goals to lead the Twin City Steel to a 5-2 victory over the Breezy Point North Stars.

Wagner found the back of the net 4:42 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and again while 11:51 into the second to make the score 2-1 Twin City.

Breezy Point's power play was ineffective against Twin City's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

The Steel could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 22 minutes in penalties during the game.

Twin City also got points from Mikko Aho, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Twin City included Jake McAfee and Jared Erickson, who each put in one. In addition, Twin City received assists from David Becker, Adam Bedford, and Lance Carney, who contributed one each and Aharon Lara and Jon Plaszcz, who each chipped in two.

The North Stars were helped by Ryan Mezera, who grabbed one goal. Mezera scored 14:59 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Twin City. Linder Kenyon provided the assist. Breezy Point also got a goal from Blake Neumann as well. Other players who recorded assists for Breezy Point were Joe Costello, who had one.

Twin City's Darien Jones stopped 28 shots out of the 30 that he faced. The Steel registered one goal on six power play opportunities. Joe Licata took the loss and made 12 saves before being replaced by Dakota McDonald who made 10 saves. Breezy Point incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
