West Michigan outlasts Peoria, 3-2

The West Michigan Wolves gutted out a close 3-2 win against the Peoria Mustangs.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Michael Tratar secured the win for West Michigan with a goal in the third period.

Tratar had a great game for the Wolves, netting two goals.

West Michigan stifled Peoria's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Brandon Benaglio also scored for West Michigan. More assists for West Michigan came via Tim Foley, Dakota Ulmer, Austin Buchholz, Shawn Adam, Sean Smalley, and Devin Farkas, who each chipped in one.

The Mustangs kept the Wolves' goalie busy throughout the game, and Hunter Vorva made 34 saves on 36 shots.

Peoria was helped by Kai Barber, who registered one goal. Barber scored 7:41 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Chance Homerin provided the assist. Peoria also got a goal from Levi Armstrong as well. Other players who recorded assists for Peoria were Andrew Scofield, who had one.

West Michigan incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Mustangs' Nicholas Piech stopped 22 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Peoria incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
