The Helena Bighorns were firing on all cylinders against Glacier, and when the final buzzer sounded Bighorns emerged with a 10-0 win.

Helena got the win on the strength of a great game by Cody Vanthournout, who had two goals and one assist. Vanthournout scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 34 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Helena. The Bighorns earned a power play opportunity when Tyler McMahon was put in the box for crossing red line warm up. Nick Trefry picked up the assist. Vanthournout's next tally on the power play made the score 9-0 Helena with 10:31 left in the third period. Helena had gained a power play chance when Tristan Klewsaat was whistled for roughing. Matt Mohar assisted on the tally.

Glacier's power play was ineffective against the Bighorns' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Helena forced Glacier's goaltenders to work all game long, getting 64 shots and forcing 54 saves. Ryan Lund made 34 stops and Nolan Slager made 20. The Bighorns excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Helena got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed four goals during the game.

Helena additionally got points from Trefry, who also grabbed one goal and four assists to lead the team in points, Logan Hulse, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Matt Blassic, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Mohar, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Justin Provencher also scored for Helena. More assists for Helena came via Brandon Mills, who had two, Kendall Bolen-Porter, who had four, and Daniel Liberko, Brandt Miller, Brian Skillicorn, and Grant Martens, who each chipped in one.

Glacier was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 26 penalty minutes.

Martens rejected 20 shots on goal for the Bighorns. Helena incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
