A hat trick by Jake Wasem was the highlight in Xpress' 5-2 win against the Cincinnati Swords.

Wasem notched his first tally 16:24 into the first period. He then added goals at 7:24 into the third and at 13:06 into the third.

The Southern Tier Xpress' penalty kill excelled, as Southern Tier gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

The Xpress stifled Cincinnati's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Southern Tier forced the Swords goalie James Schroeder to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots.

Southern Tier also got points from Justin Andriaccio, who also racked up one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Southern Tier also got a goal from Chris Hubbard as well. Other players who recorded assists for Southern Tier were Elijah Williams, who had two and Alec Hooper, Jake Herrberg, Aleksandr Koshelev, and Andre Vanlew, who each chipped in one.

Cincinnati stifled the Xpress' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

The Swords were helped by Andrew Bond, who had two goals. Bond scored the first of his two goals at 5:52 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cincinnati. Hunter Schneider picked up the assist. Bond's next tally made the score 2-2 with 18:42 left in the third period. Schneider assisted on the tally. More assists for Cincinnati came via Marc Anderson, who had one.

Southern Tier's Tyler Geloneck stopped 15 shots out of the 17 that he faced. The Xpress incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. James Schroeder made 36 saves for Cincinnati on 41 shots. The Swords incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
