Toledo blows out Metro, 4-1

The Metro Jets had trouble finding ways to stop the Toledo Cherokee, which beat Jets, 4-1.

Toledo was led by Cam Schwartz, who tallied one goal and one assist. Schwartz scored 4:29 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Toledo. Jimmy Howell provided the assist.

The Cherokee stifled Metro's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Toledo kept the Jets' goalie busy throughout the game, and Stephan Wroe made 27 saves on 31 shots.

Toledo also had goals scored by Michael Pisanti, Dominic Pisanti, and Aaron Roschinsky, who scored one goal each. In addition, Toledo received assists from Brody Duncan, Nikolas Verbosky, Kyler Omey, Cody Estrel, and Eathan Resetar, who contributed one each.

Metro's offense operated below its season average. The Jets average 4.3 goals per game.

Metro was led by Jason Newel, who scored the team's only goal. Newel scored 17:32 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Toledo. Kyle Shreve picked up the assist.

The Cherokee's Aaron Callan stopped 24 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Toledo incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Jets incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
