McDade lifts Pembroke over Cumberland, 4-1

The Pembroke Lumber Kings relied on the scoring touch of Owen McDade, who netted two goals, to beat the Cumberland Grads, 4-1.

McDade found the back of the net on the power play 8:56 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Pembroke and again while 4:19 into the second to make the score 2-1 Pembroke.

Pembroke excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Cumberland was unable to stop the Lumber Kings from sending pucks towards the net, and Pembroke eventually piled up 45 shots on goal.

Pembroke also got points from Jesse Blais, who also registered one goal and one assist. Pembroke also got a goal from Stephen Cooney as well. In addition, Pembroke received assists from Mitchell Mueller, who had one and Dylan Chase and Felix Chamberland, who contributed two each.

The Grads were led by Cody Kyle, who scored the team's only goal. Kyle scored 2:55 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Thomas Mansbridge picked up the assist.

Sean Green recorded 22 saves for the Lumber Kings. Pembroke incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Cumberland's Kevin Gollmer stopped 41 shots out of the 45 that he faced. The Grads incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
