Pearson leads Ottawa over Gloucester, 6-2

The Ottawa Senators' Jim Pearson had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 6-2 win over the Gloucester Rangers.

Pearson's tallies came at 11:59 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Ottawa and 13:53 into the third to make the score 6-2 Ottawa.

Ottawa forced Gloucester's goaltenders to work in net, taking 38 shots and forcing 32 saves. Doug Johnston made 29 stops and David Richer made three. The Senators' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Gloucester power plays.

Ottawa also got points from Connor Bebb, who also had one goal and two assists and Alexandre Way, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Ottawa also had goals scored by Bruno Cheff and Carl Faucher, who each put in one. More assists for Ottawa came via Robert Michel, Shawn Lynch, Sean Rappleyea, Isaac Anderson, Daniel Sarracco, Johnathan Kovacevic, Joey Champigny, and Zach Car, who contributed one each.

The Rangers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances.

Gloucester was helped by Joey Fallon, who racked up one goal. Fallon scored 18:32 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Matt Adams assisted on the tally. Gloucester also got a goal from Bobby Williams as well. In addition, Gloucester received assists from Matt Foget, Jared Leslie, and Nicholas Ngwafusi, who each chipped in one.

Ottawa's Alexandre Savard-Belanger stopped 20 shots out of the 22 that he faced. The Senators incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Rangers incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
