Brockville uses early goal to top Kemptville, 4-2

The Brockville Braves beat the Kemptville 73s, 4-2, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout.

Tre Folkes provided Brockville with the game-winning tally when he scored 17:49 into the first period. The Braves earned a power play opportunity when Justin Haasbeek was put in the box for cross checking. Dylan McCrory provided the assist.

Brockville was led by Sean King, who had one goal. King scored short handed 5:21 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Brockville. The Braves were on a disadvantage when Eric Israel went off the ice for interference. Andrew Peski assisted on the tally.

Brockville excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

Brockville also got points from Liam Folkes, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. DAndre John also scored for Brockville. Other players who recorded assists for Brockville were Dante Suffredini, Jack Patterson, and Bo Taylor, who each chipped in one.

Kemptville's offense rang up 39 shots on the Braves' net.

The 73s were helped by Alex Row, who racked up one goal. Row scored 53 seconds into the third period to make the score 3-2 Brockville. Kemptville also got a goal from Owen Guy as well. More assists for Kemptville came via Brandon Lesway and Daniel Monk, who contributed one each.

Bo Taylor made 37 saves for Brockville on 39 shots. The Braves incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Jacob Tugnutt recorded 26 saves for Kemptville. The 73s incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
