Kanata's comeback falls short, Brockville wins 4-2North Grenville Municipal 2 Sat, Jan 31, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Brockville Braves came close to giving away a three-goal lead to the Kanata Stallions, but did just enough to escape with a 4-2 victory. Brockville led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Braves' Brett Van Stralen scored short handed at 6:19 in the third period to put Brockville up 3-0. The Braves got the win on the strength of a great game by Dylan McCrory, who had one goal and two assists. McCrory scored 18:53 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Brockville. Tre Folkes provided the assist. Kanata's power play was ineffective against Brockville's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. The Braves forced the Stallions goalie Brian Wilson to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. Brockville also got points from Liam Folkes, who also registered one goal and one assist. Brockville also got a goal from Andrew Peski as well. More assists for Brockville came via Mitchell Datz, Owen Gill, Eric Israel, and Jack Patterson, who contributed one each. Kanata was helped by Ian Johnston, who tallied one goal. Johnston scored on the power play 18:41 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Brockville. The Stallions had gotten the advantage when Brockville's Neil Robinson was sent off for slashing. Jean-Philippe Langlois picked up the assist. Taylor Egan also scored for Kanata. In addition, Kanata received assists from Louis-Charles Croteau and Cameron Radziwon, who each chipped in one. Mitchell Datz made 23 saves for the Braves on 25 shots. Brockville incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Wilson rejected 27 shots on goal for Kanata. The Stallions incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
