Nepean falls apart in second, loses to Cornwall, 6-2

The Cornwall Colts scored three goals in the second period to pull away from the Nepean Raiders and clinch a 6-2 win.

Cornwall was led by Peter Angelopoulos, who had one goal. Angelopoulos scored on the power play 6:47 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Cornwall. The Colts earned a power play opportunity when Felix Page was put in the box for boarding. Marly Quince assisted on the tally.

Nepean was unable to stop Cornwall from sending pucks towards the net, and the Colts eventually piled up 40 shots on goal. Cornwall's goal total was higher than its season average. This season, the Colts average 3.4 goals per contest.

Jay DAmour also scored for Cornwall. More assists for Cornwall came via Matthew Morin, who had two, Tanner Spink, who had three, and Cal Hofford, Lawson MacDonald, Grant Cooper, Nick Lalonde, Parker Krol, and Zac Tierney, who contributed one each.

The Raiders were led by Luke McCaw, who registered one goal. McCaw scored 8:02 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Nepean. Nicolas Vlahos provided the assist. Nepean also got a goal from Josh Zizek as well. Other players who recorded assists for Nepean were Rory Garlasco and Corey Tam, who each chipped in one.

Denny Dubblestyne rejected 24 shots on goal for Cornwall. The Colts incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Francis Marotte made 34 saves for Nepean on 40 shots. The Raiders totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. For Nepean, Zach Renfrew was ejected from the game.
