Gloucester rides Johnston to victory over Nepean, 4-1

The Gloucester Rangers relied on the sparkling performance of Doug Johnston in net to grab a 4-1 win against the Nepean Raiders.

Gloucester was led by Ryan Kuffner, who registered one goal and one assist. Kuffner scored on the power play 19:01 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Gloucester. The Rangers had gained a power play chance when Devin Fullum was whistled for slashing. Matt Foget provided the assist.

Others who scored for Gloucester included Max Veronneau, Joey Fallon, and Liam Biard, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Gloucester were Zachary Borsoi, who had two and Connor Eckenrod and Hunter Leishman, who each chipped in one.

Gloucester was unable to stop Nepean from sending pucks towards the net, and the Raiders eventually piled up 35 shots on goal.

Nepean was led by Luke McCaw, who scored the team's only goal. McCaw scored 10:25 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Gloucester. Jody Sullivan picked up the assist.

Doug Johnston made 34 saves for the Rangers on 35 shots. Gloucester incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Francis Marotte recorded 25 saves for the Raiders. Nepean incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
