Kemptville blows out Kanata, 4-1Kanata Recreational Complex Thu, Jan 22, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Kemptville 73s were firing on all cylinders against the Kanata Stallions, and when the final buzzer sounded 73s emerged with a 4-1 win. Alex Row was all over the ice for Kemptville, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Row scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 11:20 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Kemptville. The 73s had gotten the advantage when Kanata's Bryce Biller was sent off for elbowing. Cody Hendsbee provided the assist. Row's next tally on the power play made the score 3-0 Kemptville with 19:14 left in the third period. Erik Brown picked up the assist. The Stallions were stymied by Kemptville's netminder Nicholas Hodgins, who stopped 25 shots during the victory. The solid play of Hodgins will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 3.16. The 73s put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Kanata to score on any of its six power plays. Kemptville additionally got points from Brown, who also registered two goals and one assist. More assists for Kemptville came via Daniel Monk, who had one and Jason Tackett, who had three. The Stallions were led by Mike Tropea, who scored the team's only goal. Tropea scored 1:10 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Kemptville. Kemptville incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Brian Wilson recorded 24 saves for Kanata. The Stallions incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
