Cornwall downs Cumberland, 3-1

Grant Cooper finished with one point to lead the Cornwall Colts to a 3-1 victory over the Cumberland Grads.

Cornwall excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Colts' offense rang up 38 shots on Cumberland's net.

Cornwall also had goals scored by Lawson MacDonald and Jay DAmour, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Cornwall were Ross Craig, who had two and Keegan Mulhearn, Tanner Spink, Lawson MacDougall, and Kevin Hope, who each chipped in one.

The Grads managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Cumberland finished below its season average of 15.0 penalty minutes per game.

The Grads were led by Peter Sigouin, who scored the team's only goal. Sigouin scored 54 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-1. Chandler Watson picked up the assist.

Cornwall's Denny Dubblestyne stopped 16 shots out of the 17 that he faced. The Colts incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Paul Leger rejected 35 shots on goal for Cumberland.
