The Cornwall Colts and the Smiths Falls Bears played 60 tight minutes of hockey, but in the end it was Cornwall that came away with a 1-0 victory. The assists on the winning goal came courtesy of Jay DAmour and Lawson MacDonald.The Colts were led by Grant Cooper, who had one goal. Cooper scored 18 seconds into the third period to make the score 1-0 Cornwall. DAmour provided the assist. Cornwall did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Colts put an average of 3.4 pucks into the net per game. Cornwall's defense was surprisingly good. The Colts gives up 2.8 goals on average per game. Smiths Falls was unable to stop Cornwall from sending pucks towards the net, and the Colts eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. The Bears excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Smiths Falls was held below its usual level of production. The Bears average 3.1 goals per game. Denny Dubblestyne rejected 23 shots on goal for Cornwall. The Colts incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Michael Pinios recorded 34 saves for Smiths Falls. The Bears incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. |
