Smiths Falls falls to Pembroke in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

The Pembroke Lumber Kings' Adam Dauda scored 1:46 into overtime to beat the Smiths Falls Bears, 5-4 (OT).

Dauda had a great game for Pembroke, netting two goals.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 3:22 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

The Lumber Kings forced Smiths Falls goalie Michael Pinios to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots.

Pembroke additionally got points from Alexandre Boivin, who also had two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Stephen Cooney also scored for Pembroke. Other players who recorded assists for Pembroke were Anthony Nellis, who had three and Colton Keuhl, Mitchell Mueller, Jesse Blais, Felix Chamberland, Stephan Beauvais, and Justin Felhaber, who each chipped in one.

The Bears' offense rang up 44 shots on Pembroke's net.

Smiths Falls was led by Nicolas Coates, who registered two goals. Coates scored the first of his two goals at 14:35 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Karson McCartney picked up the assist. Coates' next tally made the score 2-1 Smiths Falls with 2:39 left in the first period. The Bears had gained a power play chance when Chamberland was whistled for cross checking. Taylor Henry assisted on the tally. Smiths Falls also got points from Kevin Groulx, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Smiths Falls also got a goal from Noah Gurr as well. In addition, Smiths Falls received assists from Chris MacMillan, Brett Garvey, Darius Gibson, Cole Busschaert, and Michael McKenney, who contributed one each.

Jordan Piccolino made 40 saves for the Lumber Kings on 44 shots. Pembroke totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-2 on the power play. For the Lumber Kings, Cameron Hughes was ejected from the game. Smiths Falls' Pinios stopped 36 shots out of the 41 that he faced. The Bears totaled nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 2-for-5 on the power play. Smiths Falls ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Chase Hawley was ejected from the game.
