Brockville holds on for 2-1 win against Gloucester

The Gloucester Rangers tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Brockville Braves held on for a 2-1 victory.

Brockville made the score 2-0 on a goal by Neil Robinson at 8:17 in the third period, and Gloucester got as close as 2-1 when Matt Adams scored 17:41 into the third period.

The Rangers were stymied by the Braves' netminder Bo Taylor, who stopped 33 shots during the victory. Taylor certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.13 entering the contest.

Brockville also got points from Liam Folkes, who also had one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Brockville were Dylan McCrory, who had one.

Gloucester's offense rang up 34 shots on Brockville's net.

In addition, Gloucester received assists from Max Veronneau, who had one.

The Braves totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-1 on the power play. Brockville ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Brett Van Stralen was ejected from the game. David Richer made 15 saves for the Rangers on 17 shots. Gloucester totaled seven minutes in penalty time with one minor and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. For the Rangers, Zachary Borsoi was ejected from the game.
