Huge game by Brown boosts Kemptville over Nepean, 7-2

Erik Brown had two goals and three assists to lead the Kemptville 73s to a 7-2 victory over the Nepean Raiders.

Brown scored at 1:09 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kemptville and again while on the power play 2:30 into the first to make the score 2-0 Kemptville.

Kemptville forced Nepean's netminders to work in net, taking 44 shots and forcing 37 saves. Francis Marotte made 22 stops and Leif Hertz made 15. The 73s stifled the Raiders' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Kemptville surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The 73s average 3.7 goals per game.

Kemptville additionally got points from Owen Guy, who also racked up two goals and one assist. Kemptville also had goals scored by Tyson Kirkby, Brandon Lesway, and Dean Galasso, who scored one goal each. In addition, Kemptville received assists from Quinn Wichers, Shane Riddell, Jason Tackett, Alex Row, Shawn Cameron, and Daniel Monk, who each chipped in one and Brandon Seatter and Brandon Cole, who contributed two each.

Kemptville was unable to stop Nepean from sending pucks towards the net, and the Raiders eventually piled up 33 shots on goal.

Nepean was helped by Devin Fullum, who grabbed one goal. Fullum scored 1:50 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Kemptville. William White assisted on the tally. Nepean also got points from Rory Garlasco, who also finished with one goal and one assist. More assists for Nepean came via Benoit Villeneuve and Broydon Stufko, who each chipped in one.

Nicholas Hodgins made 31 saves for the 73s on 33 shots. Kemptville incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Raiders incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
