Nepean wins tough contest against Brockville, 5-3Brockville Memorial Centre Fri, Dec 05, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Nepean Raiders gutted out a close 5-3 win against the Brockville Braves. Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and William White's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker. White had a great game for Nepean, netting two goals. The Raiders put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Brockville to score on any of its four power plays. Nepean additionally got points from Benoit Villeneuve, who also had one goal and one assist and Mac MacSorley, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Nepean also got a goal from Corey Tam as well. In addition, Nepean received assists from Felix Page, who had two and Josh Zizek, Devin Fullum, Luke McCaw, Rory Garlasco, and Brandon Belding, who each chipped in one. The Braves' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Nepean power plays. Brockville was helped by Dylan McCrory, who grabbed one goal. McCrory scored 5:06 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Brockville. Liam Folkes assisted on the tally. Brockville also got points from Neil Robinson, who also registered one goal and one assist. Sean King also scored for Brockville. Other players who recorded assists for Brockville were Jack Billings, who had two. Francis Marotte made 25 saves for Nepean on 28 shots. The Raiders incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Bo Taylor recorded 19 saves for the Braves. Brockville incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. |
