Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Smiths Falls Bears defeated the Brockville Braves in a shootout 4-3 (2-0 SO). The shootout lasted for four attempts between the teams. Smiths Falls' other shootout goal was scored by Kevin Groulx.The Bears saw a three-goal lead disappear, but was able to secure the win in a shootout. Smiths Falls made the score 3-0 on a goal by Taylor Henry at 14:04 in the second period. Brockville evened things up at 3-3 on a goal by Jack Billings at 10:05 in the third period. The Bears excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Smiths Falls was helped by Neil Doef, who had one goal. Doef scored on the power play 8:56 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Smiths Falls. A roughing penalty on Francesco Tolfa had put the Bears on the power play. Cole Busschaert provided the assist. Jared Henry also scored for Smiths Falls. In addition, Smiths Falls received assists from Groulx, who had two and Brandon Lesway and Karson McCartney, who contributed one each. The Braves forced Smiths Falls goalie Michael Pinios to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. Brockville was helped by DAndre John, who grabbed one goal.
