Huge game by Cyr boosts Hawkesbury over Brockville, 8-3

The Hawkesbury Hawks' Jonathan Cyr had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in his team's 8-3 win over the Brockville Braves.

Cyr found the back of the net 8:03 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Hawkesbury and again while on the power play 17:54 into the second to make the score 6-3 Hawkesbury.

Hawkesbury bested its season scoring average. The Hawks have scored at the pace of 3.2 goals per game during the current campaign.

Hawkesbury additionally got points from Jason Brochu, who also registered one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Hawkesbury included Rory Gagnon, who had two and Alex Anderson, Marc-Antoine Bourbonnais, and Liam Alcalde, who scored one goal each. In addition, Hawkesbury received assists from Pierre Ouellette, CJ Stubbs, Jonathan Tecce, Chris Harper, Phil Johansson, and Hunter Racine, who contributed one each.

Brockville was helped by Dylan McCrory, who grabbed one goal. McCrory scored on the power play 11:19 into the second period to make the score 3-3. The Braves earned a power play opportunity when Gagnon was put in the box for tripping. Andrew Peski picked up the assist. Brockville also got points from Brett Van Stralen, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Brockville also got a goal from Eric Israel as well. More assists for Brockville came via Sean King, who had one.

Gunner Rivers rejected 21 shots on goal for Hawkesbury. The Hawks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Brockville's starting goalie, David Poirier, made 16 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Bo Taylor, who stopped four shots. The Braves incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
