Gloucester wins tough contest against Cumberland, 5-3

The Gloucester Rangers and the Cumberland Grads were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Gloucester made the most of its opportunities and won, 5-3.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Matt Adams secured the win for the Rangers with a goal in the third period.

Gloucester was paced by Adams, who tallied one goal. Adams scored 8:12 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Gloucester. Joey Fallon provided the assist.

The Rangers' offense rang up 34 shots on Cumberland's net.

Gloucester additionally got points from Connor Eckenrod, who also had one goal and one assist and Adam Beveridge, who also registered one goal and one assist. Gloucester also had goals scored by Ryan Kuffner and Lucas Zwaagstra, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Gloucester were Matt Foget, who had two and Zackhary Salloum, Branden Makara, and Vincent Guimond, who contributed one each.

The Grads were helped by Brett Faber, who finished with one goal. Faber scored on the power play 5:10 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Cumberland. Cumberland had gotten the advantage when Gloucester's Makara was sent off for tripping. Thomas Mansbridge picked up the assist. Others who scored for Cumberland included Bobby Williams and Joey Sollazzo, who scored one goal each. In addition, Cumberland received assists from Travis Douglas, who had one.

David Richer made 27 saves for the Rangers on 30 shots. Gloucester incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Kevin Gollmer rejected 29 shots on goal for the Grads. Cumberland incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
