Pembroke hangs on, beats Brockville 5-3

Justin Felhaber gave the Pembroke Lumber Kings the lead in the first period, and the Brockville Braves was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 5-3.

Pembroke took over the lead for good with a goal by Felhaber at 12:44 in the first period. The Lumber Kings played down a man on Zachary Borsoi's tripping. Anthony Nellis picked up the assist.

Pembroke got the win behind a great game by Felix Chamberland, who had two goals and two assists. Chamberland scored the first of his two goals at 8:05 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Pembroke. Alexandre Boivin assisted on the tally. Chamberland's next tally made the score 5-3 Pembroke with 36 seconds left in the third period. Stephan Beauvais picked up the assist.

Brockville's power play was ineffective against the Lumber Kings' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

Pembroke forced the Braves goalie David Poirier to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.

Pembroke also got points from Nellis, who also registered one goal and three assists and Boivin, who also had one goal and two assists. In addition, Pembroke received assists from Colton Keuhl, who had one.

Brockville was led by Sean King, who registered two goals and one assist. King scored the first of his two goals at 12:27 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Pembroke. Jack Billings assisted on the tally. King's next tally made the score 4-3 Pembroke with 11:48 left in the third period. Neil Robinson also scored for Brockville.

Connor Hughes recorded 19 saves for the Lumber Kings. Pembroke incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Poirier rejected 28 shots on goal for the Braves. Brockville incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
