Carleton Place downs Brockville, 6-3

The Carleton Place Canadians took home the win against the Brockville Braves, 6-3.

Carleton Place forced Brockville's netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, taking 33 shots and forcing 27 saves. David Poirier made 15 stops and Bo Taylor made 12.

The Canadians were helped by Bryce VanHorn, who racked up two goals. VanHorn scored the first of his two goals at 3:19 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Carleton Place. Tyson Stewart picked up the assist. VanHorn's next tally made the score 6-1 Carleton Place with 1:06 left in the second period. Carleton Place had taken the advantage when the Braves' Ethan Weiss got sent off for slashing. Trent Shore assisted on the tally. Carleton Place additionally got points from Willie Brooks, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Carleton Place included David Eccles, Wesley Baker, and Andy Sturtz, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Carleton Place were Nicolas Mucci, who had two and Adam Lloyd, Connor Merkley, Jordan Larson, Craig Pefley, and Stephen Baylis, who contributed one each.

Brockville was helped by Dylan McCrory, who finished with one goal. McCrory scored on the power play 7:21 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Brockville. The Braves had gotten the advantage when the Canadians' Baylis was sent off for cross checking. Landon Gareau provided the assist. Brockville also got points from Liam Folkes, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Brockville also got a goal from Eric Israel as well. In addition, Brockville received assists from Owen Gill and Sean King, who each chipped in one.

Guillaume Therien made 21 saves for Carleton Place on 24 shots. The Canadians incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Brockville incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
