Nepean holds on for 5-3 win against KanataNepean Sportsplex Rink 1 Sun, Oct 19, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Kanata Stallions tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Nepean Raiders held on for a 5-3 victory. Nepean took a 5-2 lead during the third period, only to have Kanata storm back on a Ian Johnston goal 14:03 into the third period to pull to two goals down. The Raiders were led by Broydon Stufko, who racked up one goal and one assist. Stufko scored 13:39 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Nepean. Luke McCaw provided the assist. Nepean forced the Stallions goalie Brian Wilson to work between the pipes, taking 45 shots. Nepean also got points from Felix Page, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Brandon Watt, who also registered one goal and one assist. Nepean also had goals scored by Chad Malinowski and Jack Kilrea, who each put in one. More assists for Nepean came via Dakota Ford, who had two and Tommy Abrams, Rory Garlasco, and Mac MacSorley, who contributed one each. Kanata's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Nepean power plays. The Stallions' offense rang up 35 shots on the Raiders' net. Devin Fullum also scored for Kanata. In addition, Kanata received assists from Tyler ONeill, who had two and Domenic Camastra, Nic Marchand, Joey Laird, and James Thomson, who each chipped in one. Nepean's Daniel Urbani stopped 32 shots out of the 35 that he faced. The Raiders incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Brian Wilson made 40 saves for Kanata on 45 shots. The Stallions incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
