Taylor Henry grabbed one point to lead the Smiths Falls Bears to a 3-0 victory over the Cumberland Grads. Smiths Falls excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Bears kept Cumberland's goalie busy throughout the game, and Paul Leger made 32 saves on 35 shots. Others who scored for Smiths Falls included Neil Doef and Nicolas Coates, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Smiths Falls were Brandon Lesway, Josh Leblanc, Karson McCartney, and Cole Busschaert, who contributed one each. The Grads put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Smiths Falls to score on any of its five power plays. Cumberland did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Grads average 2.3 goals per game. Cole Skinner rejected 20 shots on goal for the Bears. Smiths Falls incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Cumberland incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. |
