Nepean wins tough contest against Ottawa, 4-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Nepean Raiders escaped with a 4-2 victory over the Ottawa Senators.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Broydon Stufko's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Nepean was sparked by Stufko, who registered one goal and one assist. Stufko scored 13:04 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Nepean. Brandon Watt provided the assist.

The Raiders excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

Nepean additionally got points from Josh Zizek, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Nepean also had goals scored by Chad Malinowski and Brandon Belding, who each put in one. More assists for Nepean came via Diego Gagnon and Jack Kilrea, who each chipped in one.

Ottawa was helped by Cody Bean, who racked up one goal. Bean scored 10:26 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Matthew Cruickshank picked up the assist. Ottawa also got a goal from Alexandre Way as well. Other players who recorded assists for Ottawa were Connor Bebb, Isaac Anderson, and Carl Faucher, who contributed one each.

Francis Marotte made 28 saves for Nepean on 30 shots. The Raiders incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Alexandre Savard-Belanger recorded 17 saves for the Senators. Ottawa incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
