Hawkesbury downs Brockville in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Hawkesbury Hawks pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Brockville Braves on a clutch goal by Damien Charette.

Hawkesbury's penalty kill excelled, as the Hawks gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

Hawkesbury was led by Charette, who racked up one goal. Charette scored 3:37 into overtime to make the score 4-3 Hawkesbury. Ross Mandigo provided the assist.

Brockville was unable to stop the Hawks from sending pucks towards the net, and Hawkesbury eventually piled up 41 shots on goal. The defensemen of the Hawks were also effective in the Braves' zone, and came away with two goals.

Hawkesbury also got points from Jason Brochu, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Hawkesbury also had goals scored by Jonathan Cyr and Phil Johansson, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Hawkesbury were Brandon Barillaro, Chris Harper, and Hunter Racine, who contributed one each.

Brockville forced Hawkesbury goalie Gunner Rivers to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots.

The Braves were helped by Liam Folkes, who registered one goal. Folkes scored 33 seconds into the third period to make the score 3-2 Brockville. Jack Billings assisted on the tally. Others who scored for Brockville included Ethan Weiss and Sean King, who scored one goal each. More assists for Brockville came via Eric Israel, who had two and Blake Carrick and Andrew Peski, who each chipped in one.

Rivers recorded 35 saves for the Hawks. Hawkesbury incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Bo Taylor made 37 saves for Brockville on 41 shots. The Braves incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
