Brockville wins tough contest against Cornwall, 5-3Brockville Memorial Centre Fri, Oct 03, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Brockville Braves escaped with a 5-3 victory over the Cornwall Colts. Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Michael Murray's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker. Brockville excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Braves were led by Sean King, who tallied two goals. King scored the first of his two goals at 4:42 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Brockville. Jack Billings picked up the assist. King's next tally made the score 5-3 Brockville with 21 seconds left in the third period. Billings provided the assist. Others who scored for Brockville included Tre Folkes and dAndre John, who each put in one. More assists for Brockville came via Tyler Greenberg and Liam Folkes, who contributed one each and Eric Israel and Andrew Peski, who each chipped in two. Cornwall gave up more goals than its normal season average. The Colts are averaging 2.1 goals against for the season. Cornwall was led by Peter Angelopoulos, who finished with two goals and one assist. Angelopoulos scored the first of his two goals at 14:36 into the first period to make the score 1-1.
