Gloucester earns hard-fought 1-0 win over Carleton Place

The game between the Gloucester Rangers and the Carleton Place Canadians proved to be an even match, as Gloucester took home the victory by scoring only once in a 1-0 win.

Colin Kruse's tally was assisted by Chris Morgan.

Carleton Place's power play was ineffective against the Rangers' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Gloucester was led by Kruse, who had one goal. Kruse scored 9:22 into the third period to make the score 1-0 Gloucester. Morgan provided the assist.

The Rangers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances.

The Canadians stifled Gloucester's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Carleton Place could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Canadians average 3.6 goals per game.

The Rangers' David Richer stopped 18 shots out of the 18 that he faced. Gloucester incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Adrian Clarke rejected 27 shots on goal for Carleton Place. The Canadians incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
