Brockville downs Nepean, 3-0

DAndre John registered one point to lead the Brockville Braves to a 3-0 victory over the Nepean Raiders.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 5:29 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with four game misconducts.

Brockville was often in penalty trouble, totaling five minors and two majors for 20 minutes in penalty time. The Braves surpassed its season average of 17.0 penalty minutes per game. Brockville's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Nepean power plays.

Brockville also had goals scored by Sean King and Andrew Jarvis, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Brockville were Brett Van Stralen and Zach Masterson, who contributed one each.

Nepean's penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled five minors and two majors for 20 minutes in penalty time. The Raiders had been averaging 18.0 minutes in penalties per game. Nepean stifled the Braves' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Raiders' offense operated below their season average. Nepean puts an average of 3.1 pucks into the net per game.

Mitchell Datz made five saves before being replaced by David Poirier, who took the win and made 24 saves. Brockville registered zero goals on four power play opportunities. The Braves ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Jarvis was ejected from the game. The Raiders' Francis Marotte stopped 23 shots out of the 26 that he faced. For Nepean, Luke McCaw was ejected from the game.
