Row nets hat trick, leads Kemptville to 3-0 win over Cumberland

Alex Row netted a hat trick to lead the Kemptville 73s over the Cumberland Grads, 3-0.

Row got on the scoresheet 6:44 into the first period. He then added goals at 15:41 into the third and at 18:06 into the third.

Nicholas Hodgins spearheaded the defensive effort for Kemptville, as he did not allow a puck past him and made 25 saves for the shutout. Hodgins managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.5 prior to the game.

The 73s put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Cumberland to score on any of its four power plays. Kemptville's defense was surprisingly good. The 73s allow 2.6 goals per game. Kemptville's offense rang up 33 shots on the Grads' net.

Other players who recorded assists for Kemptville were Cody Hendsbee, Brandon Cole, Matt Tugnutt, Daniel Monk, and Tyler Young, who each chipped in one.

Cumberland could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Grads put an average of 2.2 pucks into the net per game.

The 73s incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Kevin Gollmer recorded 30 saves for Cumberland. The Grads incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
