Smiths Falls downs Kanata in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Domenic Camastra gave the Smiths Falls Bears a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Kanata Stallions when he scored 3:55 into the extra period.

Jared Henry was all over the ice for Smiths Falls, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Henry scored on the power play 4:13 into overtime to make the score 4-2 Smiths Falls. The Bears had gained a power play chance when Ian Johnston was whistled for hooking. Neil Doef picked up the assist.

Smiths Falls forced Kanata goalie Brian Wilson to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots.

Smiths Falls also got points from Doef, who also registered one goal and two assists. Smiths Falls also got a goal from Taylor Henry as well. In addition, Smiths Falls received assists from Karson McCartney, who had one.

The Stallions were helped by Carter Malette, who grabbed one goal. Malette scored 2:52 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kanata. Mike Tropea provided the assist. Nic Marchand also scored for Kanata. More assists for Kanata came via Jean-Philippe Langlois, Devin Fullum, and Arik Bretton, who each chipped in one.

Michael Pinios made 19 saves for the Bears on 21 shots. Smiths Falls incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Wilson recorded 34 saves for Kanata. The Stallions incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
