Ottawa falls to Smiths Falls in overtime, 2-1 (OT)

The Smiths Falls Bears' Josh Leblanc scored 5:00 into overtime to beat the Ottawa Senators, 2-1 (OT).

Smiths Falls' Michael Pinios was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 35 saves and let only one puck past him. Pinios certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.93 entering the contest.

The Bears were paced by Leblanc, who grabbed one goal.

Smiths Falls excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances.

Smiths Falls also got a goal from Neil Doef as well. In addition, Smiths Falls received assists from Daniel Lombardi and Taylor Henry, who each chipped in one.

Ottawa stifled the Bears' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Senators' offense rang up 36 shots on Smiths Falls' net.

Ottawa was led by Cody Bean, who scored the team's only goal. Bean scored 1:41 into the third period to make the score 1-0 Ottawa. Zacharie Car assisted on the tally.

The Bears incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Ian Andriano made 19 saves for the Senators on 21 shots. Ottawa incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
