Smith leads Uxbridge over Port Perry, 6-1Scugog Memorial Arena Sun, Feb 08, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
Jarett Smith had two goals and one assist to lead the Uxbridge Bruins to a 6-1 victory over the Port Perry Mojacks. Smith's tallies came short handed at 9:36 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Uxbridge and 14:57 into the third to make the score 6-1 Uxbridge.Uxbridge was led by goalie Jake Joosten, who finished with 27 saves while allowing one goal. Joosten managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.68 prior to the game. The Bruins pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 34 penalty minutes. Uxbridge forced Mojacks' goaltenders to work in net, racking up 36 shots and forcing 30 saves. Cody Northover made 19 stops and Jeff Julien made 11. The Bruins' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on 12 Port Perry power plays. Uxbridge also had goals scored by Korey Brand, Ryan Miehm, Patrick Bolahood, and Alex Williamson, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Uxbridge were Alex Siblock, who had two, Marco Mastrangelo, who had three, and Aiden Reilly, Todd Winder, and Connor Evans, who each chipped in one. Port Perry was held below its usual level of production. The Mojacks put an average of 4.1 pucks into the net per game. Port Perry was led by Todd McNair, who scored the team's only goal. McNair scored 5:24 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Port Perry. Kyle Schweda picked up the assist. Uxbridge registered one goal on three power play opportunities. The Mojacks incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
