Uxbridge's Mastrangelo deadly on offense in 6-0 win against GeorginaGeorgina Ice Palace Sun, Feb 01, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Uxbridge Bruins relied on the scoring touch of Marco Mastrangelo, who netted two goals, to beat the Georgina Ice, 6-0. Mastrangelo found the back of the net 3:31 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Uxbridge and again while 9:48 into the first to make the score 2-0 Uxbridge.Uxbridge managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Bruins ended up below its season average of 24.0 penalty minutes per game. Uxbridge's defense was surprisingly good. The Bruins allow 2.4 goals per game. Uxbridge forced Georgina goalie Vincenzo DElia to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. Uxbridge additionally got points from Aiden Reilly, who also had one goal and one assist. Todd Winder also scored for Uxbridge. In addition, Uxbridge received assists from Michael Spataro, Korey Brand, and Tyson Eastgate, who each chipped in one and Carter Vahey, Daryl Thomson, Shane Smith, and Alex Siblock, who contributed two each. Uxbridge registered one goal on three power play opportunities. The Ice's DElia stopped 34 shots out of the 40 that he faced. Georgina incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Ice ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Nathan Sinclair was ejected from the game.
