Myers' hat trick boosts Clarington over North Kawartha, 7-4

Brodie Myers netted a hat trick to lead the Clarington Eagles over the North Kawartha Knights, 7-4.

Myers' first goal came 2:33 into the first period. He then added goals at 8:33 into the first and at 12:29 into the third.

Clarington forced North Kawartha goalie Liam Murray to work between the pipes, taking 45 shots. The Eagles outdid their season average for goals scored. This season, Clarington averages 4.2 goals per contest.

Clarington also got points from Brad Down, who also had one goal and two assists, Brent Hambly, who also racked up one goal and two assists, and Blane Gaudon, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Clarington also got a goal from Cody Kean as well. In addition, Clarington received assists from Ben Pitchforth and Darby Medd, who each chipped in one and Jarod Hollister and Collin Weston, who contributed two each.

The Knights were led by Christian Lachapelle, who registered one goal and one assist. Lachapelle scored short handed 8:39 into the third period to make the score 5-4 Clarington. North Kawartha found itself down a man on Russell Fontyn's tripping. Others who scored for North Kawartha included Zack Pearson, Mitch Stewart, and Brent Bucknell, who scored one goal each. More assists for North Kawartha came via Alex Richards APM and Cameron Medland, who each chipped in one.

Tyler Caruana made 21 saves for the Eagles on 25 shots. Clarington incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. For the Eagles, Braden Gray was ejected from the game. Murray rejected 38 shots on goal for the Knights. North Kawartha incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
