Little Britain vanquishes Georgina in shootout, 8-7 (2-1 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Little Britain Merchants defeated the Georgina Ice in a shootout 8-7 (2-1 SO).

The shootout featured 10 attempts between both teams. Georgina got a shootout goal from Bradley Evans. In addition to the clincher, Little Britain got a shootout goal from Kurtis Moore.

The Merchants' penalty kill excelled, as Little Britain gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

The Merchants forced the Ice's goaltenders to work without much rest, taking 46 shots and forcing 38 saves. Brandon Klerer made 29 stops and Vincenzo DElia made nine. Little Britain bested its season scoring average. The Merchants have scored at the pace of 4.3 goals per game during the current campaign.

Little Britain was led by Moore, who tallied three goals. Little Britain additionally got points from Terry Snoddon, who also grabbed one goal and two assists and Aidan Renouf, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Mackenzie Smith also scored for Little Britain. More assists for Little Britain came via Brett Doble, who had three and Mitchell Brown and Brady Martin, who contributed two each.

Georgina kept the Merchants' goalie busy throughout the game, and Garrett Haden made 25 saves on 32 shots. The Ice outdid their season average for goals scored. Georgina averages 2.7 goals per game.

The Ice were led by JP Contento, who racked up three goals and one assist. Georgina also got points from Evans, who also registered one goal and one assist. Georgina also got a goal from Matt McIntyre APM as well. In addition, Georgina received assists from Wes McGann, Ryan Kernohan, McKenzie Gray, and Ryan Dunlop APM, who each chipped in one and Brandon Hughes and Justin Wain, who contributed two each.

Little Britain incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Georgina incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
