Huge game by Brault boosts Lakefield over Uxbridge, 3-0Uxbridge Arena Fri, Jan 02, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
Travis Brault was all over the ice for the Lakefield Chiefs, as he tallied two goals and one assist in Lakefield's 3-0 win over the Uxbridge Bruins. Brault scored short handed at 5:55 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lakefield and again while 9:16 into the second to make the score 2-0 Lakefield.The Chiefs were boosted by Zach Wainman, who turned in a shutout with 26 saves. The solid play of Wainman will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.16. Lakefield pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 23 penalty minutes. The Chiefs put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Uxbridge to score on any of its six power plays. Lakefield's defensive play was more effective than usual against the Bruins. The Chiefs allow 2.9 goals per game. Lakefield additionally got points from Patrick Young, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for Lakefield came via Eric Oosting, who had two. Uxbridge could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Bruins put an average of 3.8 pucks into the net per game. Lakefield registered one goal on 10 power play opportunities. For the Chiefs, William Sullivan was ejected from the game. Brandon Francey made 26 saves for Uxbridge on 29 shots. The Bruins incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
