Clarington blows out Little Britain, 9-2

The Clarington Eagles were firing on all cylinders against the Little Britain Merchants, and when the final buzzer sounded Eagles emerged with a 9-2 win.

Little Britain fell victim to a deadly Clarington power play, which ripped the Merchants for four goals.

The Eagles' offense rang up 46 shots on Little Britain's net. Clarington outdid its season average for goals scored. The Eagles average 3.9 goals per game. Clarington's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

The Merchants' offense operated below their season average. Little Britain puts an average of 4.2 pucks into the net per game. The Eagles' defense shut down the Merchants' forwards for much of the game, and Little Britain got off only 14 shots during the contest. The Merchants struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as they finished the game with 40 penalty minutes for 11 opposing power plays.

Clarington's Tyler Caruana stopped 12 shots out of the 14 that he faced. The Eagles incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Adam Harris rejected 37 shots on goal for Little Britain. The Merchants registered one goal on six power play opportunities.
