Uxbridge vanquishes Little Britain in shootout, 4-3 (3-2 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Uxbridge Bruins defeated the Little Britain Merchants in a shootout 4-3 (3-2 SO).

The shootout featured 18 attempts between both teams. Little Britain's shootout goals were scored by Kurtis Moore and Mitchell Brown. Uxbridge's other shootout goals were scored by Daryl Thomson and Shane Smith.

The Bruins put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Merchants to score on any of their four power plays. Little Britain was unable to stop Uxbridge from sending pucks towards the net, and the Bruins eventually piled up 53 shots on goal.

Uxbridge was led by Thomson, who registered one goal and one assist. Thomson scored 14:45 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Uxbridge. Smith picked up the assist. Uxbridge also had goals scored by Robert Freckleton and Todd Winder, who each put in one. In addition, Uxbridge received assists from Adam Bartholomew, who had one.

The Merchants' offense rang up 49 shots on the Bruins' net.

Little Britain was led by Brett Doble, who tallied one goal and one assist. Doble scored 7:17 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Uxbridge. Brown provided the assist. Others who scored for Little Britain included Moore and Hayden Long, who scored one goal each. More assists for Little Britain came via Terry Snoddon, who had two and Jesse Craig and Brady Martin, who each chipped in one.

Brandon Francey made 46 saves for Uxbridge on 49 shots. The Bruins incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. For Uxbridge, Bartholomew was ejected from the game. The Merchants' Garrett Haden stopped 49 shots out of the 52 that he faced. Little Britain incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
