Nichols nets hat trick, leads Port Perry to 7-4 win over GeorginaScugog Memorial Arena Sun, Dec 21, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Georgina Ice could not stop the Port Perry Mojacks' Ryan Nichols, who tallied a hat trick in a 7-4 win. Nichols' first goal came 4:15 into the second period. He then added goals at 9:33 into the second and at 9:54 into the third.Port Perry's offense rang up 34 shots on Georgina's net. The Mojacks found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Port Perry has scored at the pace of 4.0 goals per game during the current campaign. The defensemen of the Mojacks were also effective in the Ice's zone, and came away with two goals. Port Perry additionally got points from Matthew Doucette, who also had one goal and one assist and Kyle Schweda, who also registered one goal and one assist. Port Perry also had goals scored by Graham Lamers and Owen Bateman, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Port Perry were Stevie Sampson, Konrad Piorkowski, and Jeff St. Pierre, who each chipped in one and Andrew Crichton and Ryan Bernardes, who contributed two each. Georgina managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Ice ended up below its season average of 22.0 penalty minutes per game. Georgina got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game. The Ice were led by Derek Risebrough APM, who tallied one goal and one assist. Risebrough APM scored 16:37 into the third period to make the score 6-4 Port Perry. Bradley Boudreau 'APM' picked up the assist. Georgina also got a goal from Brandon Basler as well. In addition, Georgina received assists from Ryan Kernohan and Brett Theissen, who each chipped in one. Port Perry's Blake Shaw stopped 13 shots out of the 17 that he faced. The Mojacks incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Vincenzo DElia rejected 27 shots on goal for Georgina. The Ice registered two goals on four power play opportunities. For Georgina, Mark Gavrilov was ejected from the game.
