Uxbridge blows out Port Perry, 4-1Uxbridge Arena Fri, Dec 19, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Uxbridge Bruins were firing on all cylinders against the Port Perry Mojacks, and when the final buzzer sounded Bruins emerged with a 4-1 win. Uxbridge's Brandon Francey was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 28 saves and let only one puck past him. The solid play of Francey will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.51. The Bruins pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 32 penalty minutes. Uxbridge put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Port Perry to score on any of its six power plays. The Bruins kept the Mojacks' goalie busy throughout the game, and Blake Shaw made 27 saves on 31 shots. Uxbridge was helped by Thomas Sheedy, who finished with one goal. Sheedy scored 18:15 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Uxbridge. Marco Mastrangelo picked up the assist. Uxbridge also had goals scored by Daryl Thomson, Todd Winder, and Tyson Eastgate, who each put in one. More assists for Uxbridge came via Alex Siblock, who had one and Connor Evans, who had two. Port Perry could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Mojacks average 4.0 goals per game. The Bruins registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Port Perry incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Mojacks ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Stevie Sampson was ejected from the game.
